"Is life always this hard, or is it just when you're a kid?"

It's exactly a year since my last post with Eliza in as you can see her hair has grown out of the pixie cut she had last year. For a while now I've wanted to try a few 'film character' inspired blog-shoots, but I've found it hard picking the which character to do for the simple reason that there are so many great films, that have beautiful aesthetics but bland characters. Every now and again however, you watch a film with this incredible character plot and development and it's obvious how much work has gone into the script writing, acting and costume design. This post was inspired by Natalie Portman's character in Léon: The Professional, which I watched as I was attempting to get through the IMDb 'Top 250' films, (So far I've watched 89). The Character played by the young Natalie Portman has this really tragic plot-line, which causes her to seek refuge with her secretive neighbour Léon, who turns out to be professional assassin. Mathilda then makes a deal with him to become his protégée in exchange for doing domestic work for him. Mathilda's costumes throughout the films are to die for, her blunt one-length bob and velvet choker combination are great to replicate for those days when you want to look like a badass assassin...
